The client is a private company which operates in hospitality, construction and real estate development and is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Your new role
As the Legal Manager, you’ll oversee the provision of legal services to protect the organisation's interests. Key responsibilities include developing contract templates, reviewing contracts with vendors and partners, and representing the organisation before judicial and semi-judicial bodies. With a focus on strategic planning, financial management, people leadership, and legal expertise, you’ll contribute to the companies’ success by providing sound legal advice and fostering a culture of excellence within the Legal Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to the development of the department’s strategy and objectives and lead the implementation of initiatives and plans to achieve them.
- Assess financial and staffing needs during the annual budgeting process, advocating for the best allocation of resources based on departmental priorities.
- Track the section’s operational performance against set goals, prepare periodic reports, and present findings to senior management.
- Oversee daily operations and activities to ensure smooth functioning.
- Review and ensure the proper documentation and implementation of all relevant policies and procedures within the section.
- Supervise juniors, offering regular feedback and guidance to enhance their performance and efficiency.
- Oversee the company's legal affairs and provide advisory on local and international law.
- Develop contract templates for corporate, development (PMC, design, contracting), and operational (HMAs, franchising) activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
- Review major company contracts, including purchasing agreements, project agreements, and hotel management agreements.
- Monitor and communicate the impact of changes in laws and regulations on the company.
- Manage and handle all local legal claims and disputes involving the company in judicial and semi-judicial bodies.
- Represent the company before judicial bodies, committees, and government authorities.
- Advise management on claim settlements for non-project transactions.
- Oversee the registration, evaluation, and resolution of claims from internal and external parties.
- Support the Board and internal departments by drafting rules and regulations.
- Provide legal representation in lawsuits and advisory services.
- Conduct legal research and offer recommendations on adopting best practices for business decisions and operations.
What you'll need to succeed
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Law or related field
7–10 years of relevant experience (real estate, construction, hospitality sectors)
