FP&A Analyst - Abu Dhabi

Your new company

Responsible for providing high-level support to the Head of FP&A in achieving FP&A and business partnering targets. This includes leading the financial planning, analysis, and reporting function of their own allocated entities, preparing and providing various management reports, supporting the budget cycle, preparing current estimates, go/no-go decisions, long-term forecasts, and business plans. The role also involves advanced financial modelling for projects and investment decisions, acting as a true business partner to achieve strategic objectives.

Your new role

  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Lead the financial planning, analysis, and reporting by consolidating and interpreting reports detailing actual versus budget and forecasted results, including clear and concise variance explanations.
    • Prepare and present various management reports, supporting the budget cycle.
    • Provide historical trend analysis reviewing current performance and KPIs versus historical data.
    • Manage the generation, review, delivery, and release of monthly financial data to business stakeholders and other finance teams.
  • Financial Modelling and Forecasting:
    • Develop and maintain complex financial models for projects, ABC costing and pricing ensuring accuracy and reliability.
    • Lead the automation and implementation of new systems, testing, and project management: EPM, Power BI, ect
    • Establish productivity measures, dashboards, and scorecard KPI reporting.
    • Set up systems and templates to provide detailed reports on actual versus budget and forecasted results.
  • Business Partnering and Strategic Support:
    • Act as a key partner to the business, highlighting risks and opportunities in business proposals to assist management in evaluating the impact on business.
    • Challenge assumptions, propose revisions, and suggest alternative options to optimise business performance.
    • Work closely with Financial Reporting to identify opportunities to restructure the balance sheet and provide economic value to the business.
    • Recommend and track benchmarks for measuring financial and operating performance.
  • Planning and Budgeting:
    • Manage and support planning and budgeting for Operations, Commercial, and Corporate divisions through financial modelling and the establishment of planning tools.
    • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, detailing time horizons, forecast levels of detail, materiality levels, forecasting calendars, and review and sign-off procedures.
    • Accountability for the accuracy of forecasts, leveraging a sound understanding of business models and financial drivers to challenge and influence key cost drivers.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Establish and maintain constructive relationships with internal stakeholders to deliver value-added services to the business.
    • Ensure the maintenance of budget and budgetary controls.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Must have at least a master’s degree in business/Finance and a professional qualification such as FFA, CPA, CA, CIMA, MBA, or ACCA.
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience with at least 5 years in accounting, finance, budgeting, and/or forecasting (preferred 3 years airline experience).
  • Rigorous and analytical thinking.
  • Proficient in building and managing large MS Excel models, detailed PowerPoint presentations, and other planning system tools.
  • Experience of using decision support tools and coaching others in their development and use.
  • Strong experience in financial planning and control.
  • Proven ability to make decisions and recommendations based on data and analysis while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in applying governance, risk, and compliance components.
  • Advanced communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
