The client is a Defence and Manufacturing Company, involved in significant development projects, in collaboration with key suppliers and market leaders in the Aerospace field.

Your new role

To act as Senior Legal Counsel and provide sound legal advice across a wider range of legal disciplines and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Generalist Legal Services

• Support company operational activity on a day-to-day basis
• Provide legal advice including drafting/reviewing/amending contracts and ensuring compliance with legal frameworks and regulatory guidelines
• Establish adherence to applicable laws and regulations, international best practice standards, policies and procedures
• Manage the provision of all legal and regulatory advice in order to minimise financial, legal and reputational risk
• Support the GC and Chief Legal Counsel in all litigation, arbitration and other legal proceedings
• Support the GC and Chief Legal Counsel by keeping up to date with new legislation and regulatory changes that may impact the organisation
• Help the organisation in legal risk management

• Support the GC and Chief Legal Counsel in maintaining corporate governance best practice
• Manage a team of lawyers/support staff and assist the Chief Legal Counsel as required
• Participate in meetings and committees as instructed by the Chief Legal Counsel

What you'll need to succeed

• At least 8 years of legal experience gained from a reputable/recognised law firm and a proven background in general corporate and commercial
• Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from a recognised/reputable university in law
• Active membership from a recognized legal associate or regulatory body from a common law jurisdiction
• Middle Eastern experience is required and experience in aerospace, civil aviation and defence would be advantageous
