The client is a prestigious private Investment Management company based in Dubai.
Your new role
As Junior Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the company, ensure compliance with UAE laws and regulations whilst minimising legal risk. You will be the main point of contact within the organisation for legal expertise and will be responsible for building strong and amicable relationships with the Chairman, stakeholders, vendors, relevant authorities, and external legal counsel.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to the Chairman and other stakeholders in the business, including review of company’s investment contracts and legal research, and supporting to draft, vet and negotiate contracts
- Monitor and stay up to date with relevant UAE laws and regulations that impact the business, providing guidance on changes or updates as needed
- Manage legal disputes and liaise with external legal Counsel as necessary
- Ensure that the business's operations are compliant with all legal requirements, including labour laws, commercial laws, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that the business is operating in a legally sound and ethical manner
- Collaborate with other stakeholders and vendors in the business, to ensure legal compliance in all areas of the business
What you'll need to succeed
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working within the UAE (Legal, Real Estate, Investment Contracts). Experience handling criminal cases desirable
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised/reputable university in law
- Experience working with international teams across multiple locations
- Fluent in English and a native Arabic speaker. Additional languages will be a plus
