We are working with a client within the BFSI Sector who is actively looking for a Head of Technology professional to join their team in Dubai.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of professionals to design, build and support Information Technology (IT) solutions to meet changing business demands across the region, specifically from an Infrastructure and Application perspective most likely via vendor partners
  • Vendor management – contracts, reviews, KPI tracking, issue tracking etc.
  • Partner with the International CIO and the US CIO on the global direction.
  • Background in infrastructure management and optimizing infrastructure for business applications.
  • Mentor the Regional IT Manager putting together a multi-year training plan in support of their development as a future leader of the Technology organisation.
  • Stay updated with latest IT procedures and developments across the region
  • Ability to sequence the move from on-premise infrastructure management to cloud based infrastructure minimizing disruption to the business
  • Working with application owners determine the best course of action for each application, starting with the those critical to revenue generation.
  • Recommend tactical and long term plans for leveraging technology to optimize the client and Associate experience.
  • Evaluate IT applications and infrastructure regularly and recommend improvements in line with global strategy and architecture.
  • Candidates must be able to judge spend on technology that are must have for the organization and more nice to have. They must always consider the needs and financial situation of the business and long term strategy when considering technology spend.
  • Determine budget, resource requirements and software and hardware equipment needs for operation of IT applications across the region
  • Ensure systems and platforms comply with regulatory bodies.
  • Implement information security programs and strategies in co-ordination with CISO/Security Team(s)
  • A high-level of emotional intelligence, and an ability to work with and influence a diverse set of constituents
  • An ability to listen carefully and articulate a blueprint for the business and IT future-state
  • Align technology plans with business strategy.
  • Experience in platform integrations, API’s, and RPA (Robotics) to facilitate regional Digital initiatives
  • Delivery of Cloud Strategy
  • Ability to evolve and evaluate solutions to meet local and global objectives and needs
  • Continually assess and enhance technology capabilities to optimize the business
  • Ability to understand details of technology being proposed by team and vendors and formulate opinions either for or against and articulate the response in a tactful, professional and fact based way.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of IT principles
  • Creative streak and ability to think outside of the box when looking at above the line or non-digital strategies.
  • Previous involvement with a business operating both bricks and mortar and online businesses would be preferable
  • Strong IT management and Infrastructure background, with experience of scaling small-medium sized organisations
  • Exposure to Azure/AWS, DevOps tooling and any cyber experience would be advantageous
  • Professional experience leading teams across professional services and client organisations is desirable
  • Work alongside all business areas to co-ordinate, analyse and inform strong decision making with robust and accurate data
  • Work across the project portfolio in response to changes in progress, strategic objectives, financial constraints, timelines, and changing organisational circumstances, managing complex issues though exemplary stakeholder management at the most senior levels
  • Measuring and reporting programme performance in a transparent manner, with clear accountability measures and benefits mapped against our strategic objectives
  • Ensure Governance principles are adhered to, and processes maintained (Change Approval Board, Project Governance, Version Control, Back-ups, Policy and Procedure reviews)
  • Ensure everyone in the department is consistently trained and developed to a high standard
