Director of FP & A - Leading Developer in Abu Dhabi

We are partnered with a leading Holding Company in Abu Dhabi (Semi-Government Entity). Growing massively within real estate with numerous master plan developments in Abu Dhabi.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads and finance teams to develop detailed, strategic budgets aligned with organizational goals and financial targets
  • AI-Powered Financial Forecasting & Modelling: Enhance forecast accuracy and automate complex financial modelling using machine learning algorithms and advanced predictive analytics
  • Advanced Predictive Analytics: Implement AI/ML solutions (Python, R, SQL) that improve forecast accuracy through statistical modeling and pattern recognition techniques
  • Real-time Market Data Integration: Utilize AI-powered data analytics platforms to process large volumes of UAE market data, integrating feeds from ADM / ADREC / ADGM, and Property Finder APIs for informed decision-making
  • Scenario Planning Automation: Deploy AI systems capable of modeling multiple market scenarios simultaneously, incorporating complex interdependent variables including interest rates, commodity prices, regulatory changes, and UAE real estate market shifts
  • Driver-Based Financial Models: Develop AI-enabled driver-based models that identify and analyze underlying performance drivers from comprehensive internal and external datasets, utilizing machine learning to uncover hidden correlations
  • Deploy machine learning algorithms for sophisticated time-series forecasting, incorporating seasonal patterns, market cycles, and external economic indicators
  • Implement neural networks for complex pattern recognition in UAE property market cycles, identifying emerging trends and potential market inflection points
  • Establish seamless integration with UAE-specific data sources and regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with local financial regulations
  • Monitor budget performance through automated variance analysis, identify root causes of deviations, and recommend data-driven corrective actions to maintain budgetary control and enhance operational efficiency
  • Evaluate investment proposals using comprehensive financial modeling, ensuring alignment with organizational strategic investment criteria while optimizing risk-adjusted returns
  • Guide the development of sophisticated financial models and multi-scenario analysis to assess the impact of strategic decisions on liquidity management and optimal capital structure
  • Assess business performance against strategic objectives and industry benchmarks using established KPIs and advanced metrics, driving operational excellence through continuous performance monitoring
  • Create, review, and validate comprehensive management reports, interactive dashboards, and key performance indicators to provide actionable insights into financial performance, emerging trends, and critical business metrics
  • Present comprehensive financial analysis, forecasting results, and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making and long-term strategic planning initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with senior management to develop and refine long-term strategic plans and growth initiatives based on financial insights, UAE market intelligence, and industry benchmarking analysis
  • Project Financial Management: Lead comprehensive financial planning and analysis for multiple real estate development projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, ensuring optimal resource allocation and profitability
  • Cash Flow Management: Develop and continuously monitor detailed cash flow projections for all development projects, implementing optimal funding strategies and maintaining healthy liquidity positions throughout project lifecycles
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of UAE real estate market trends, pricing dynamics, supply-demand factors, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions and identify emerging opportunities
  • Risk Assessment: Systematically identify, quantify, and monitor financial risks associated with development projects, market conditions, and regulatory changes, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies

Qualification & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field; minimum 12 years of relevant progressive experience with at least 5 years of proven leadership experience in senior roles within the UAE real estate industry
  • Professional accreditation such as ACCA, CA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent internationally recognized certification is highly desirable and preferred for this senior role

    Preferred Skills & Competencies:

  • AI/ML Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning tools including Python, R, SQL, advanced statistical modeling, and financial analytics platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities with proven ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to effectively convey sophisticated financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Strategic mindset combined with strong business acumen to provide actionable insights that directly support data-driven decision-making and long-term strategic planning.
  • Proven team leadership and management capabilities with a track record of fostering collaboration, driving accountability, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting methodologies, scenario analysis, and sensitivity testing across multiple business cycles
  • Deep familiarity with the UAE real estate financial metrics, property valuation methodologies, investment analysis techniques, and local regulatory requirements
  • Experience with enterprise financial planning software, business intelligence tools, and advanced Excel modeling capabilities
  • Strong understanding of UAE market dynamics, regulatory environment, and industry best practices in real estate development and investment.
