Chief Accountant Opportunity In Jeddah KSA

Hays is partnered with a growing Consumer Goods Distribution and Trading business to hire a Chief Accountant based in Jeddah, KSA. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the adaptability required to thrive in a dynamic and evolving organisational structure.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the full spectrum of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory accounting
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements in Saudi Arabia
  • Ensure compliance with ZATCA regulations, including VAT filings, zakat calculations, and tax reporting
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a high-performance team environment
  • Manage inventory accounting and cost control processes relevant to distribution and trading operations
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements within the finance function

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, (CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred)
  • Please note – only candidates based in Saudi Arabia can be considered for this role
  • 6+ years of experience within the Accounting function
  • Fluency in Arabic is advantageous
  • Relevant industry exposure is preferred; FMCG, Distribution, Trading
  • Strong knowledge of Saudi financial regulations, VAT, zakat, and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities
