SABIC in the Middle East and Africa

SABIC is a company that is proud of its roots in the Middle East. With our headquarters in Riyadh and many of our major facilities located here, this region has been the springboard for our global success.

Our operations in the region

In addition to our headquarters and main research and technology (R&T) center in Riyadh, we have an additional R&T facility and manufacturing affiliates at the Al-Jubail industrial city, which also is home to our main industrial base in Saudi Arabia. We also have a major production centers in Yanbu in Saudi Arabia on the Red Sea coast and another affiliate in Dammam on the Arabian Sea coast, as well as three joint-venture partnerships in Bahrain and one in Turkey. We have distribution and storage centers in Riyadh, Al-Jubail, Yanbu, Qassim and Jeddah and sales offices in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, Istanbul in Turkey,  Tehran in Iran, and in Beirut in the Lebanon.

In Africa, we currently have a sales office in Cairo, Egypt and a distribution and storage center in Durban, South Africa. For more information please consult our list of sales offices. Our commitment to the region

SABIC respects every community it works in, supporting local people and looking after the environment. But because we are a Saudi Arabian company we are especially active within the community in the Middle East, and are proud to uphold Saudi cultural traditions and values.

We give many charitable donations including, for example, SR 8 million ($2.1m) to the people of Lebanon, and pioneer the use of Sukuk loans (which comply with Islamic law) for high-value international business. These are just two examples of SABIC engaging with and promoting the region’s cultural and business practices.
