Our history
National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC) is the biggest dredging company in the Middle East Region. NMDC is also a Semi-government Company and well supported by the Government of Abu Dhabi. Since it was established in the year 1976, it has been in the forefront of dredging and reclamation activities in the region.
At present NMDC has a multinational workforce of more than 1,200 from various regions of the world like Arab, European, Far Eastern, South Asian, etc. The company is also heavily investing on its important asset – the manpower without which no company can be successful. Currently NMDC owns 10 cutter suction dredgers of varying capacities and one of them is the largest ever built until recently. The company has ample auxiliary plants like support craft, heavy earthmoving equipment, etc.
The revenue was close to 1 Billion AED for 2008, expected to be over 1 Billion AED for 2009. The company has plans to reach global market place and is in the process of acquiring additional capital assets, latest technology, etc.
